  5. recognizable. In the UK, in 1989, the use of
  6. aborted fetuses for research and transplant
  7. purposes was approved provided that the
  8. mother's decision to seek an abortion is not
  9. influenced by consideration of this possible
  10. use. Each case has to be considered by an
  11. ethics committee, which may set conditions
  12. for the use of the fetal material.
